Ingredients

1 pre-made pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

6 large eggs

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese

1/2 cup chopped cooked bacon (or pancetta)

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Fresh chives or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prep the Pie Crust: If using a pre-made pie crust, roll it out and fit it into a 7-inch round cake pan that fits in your air fryer. Prick the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling. Pre-bake the crust in the air fryer at 300°F (150°C) for about 5 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove and let cool slightly.

Cook the Bacon: In the air fryer, cook the bacon pieces at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-7 minutes or until crisp. Remove and let drain on paper towels.

Sauté the Onion: In a small pan or using the air fryer at 300°F (150°C), sauté the chopped onion with a little oil for about 5 minutes until soft and translucent. Remove and let cool.

Prepare the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until well combined. Stir in the cooked bacon, sautéed onions, and Gruyère cheese until evenly distributed.

Assemble the Quiche: Pour the egg mixture into the pre-baked pie crust, being careful not to overflow.

Air Fry the Quiche: Set your air fryer to 320°F (160°C). Cook the quiche for about 22-25 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is lightly golden.

Cool and Serve: Once cooked, carefully remove the quiche from the air fryer and allow it to cool for around 5-10 minutes. Slice, garnish with fresh chives or parsley if desired, and serve warm or at room temperature.
