Ingredients

6 slices of thick bread (such as brioche or challah), cubed

4 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon melted butter (for greasing the muffin tin)

Optional toppings: maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh fruit

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a standard muffin tin with melted butter, ensuring each cup is well-coated.

Prepare the Bread: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cubed bread pieces. Spread them out in the bowl evenly to allow the custard mixture to coat all pieces.

Create the Custard Mixture: In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well blended.

Combine Bread and Custard: Pour the custard mixture over the cubed bread. Gently stir with a spatula or spoon to ensure all bread pieces are soaked in the custard. Let it sit for about 10-15 minutes to absorb the liquid.

Fill the Muffin Tin: Using a spoon or scoop, divide the soaked bread mixture evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 of the way full.

Bake the Muffins: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are golden-brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool and Serve: Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for about 5 minutes, then carefully remove them from the tin and transfer to a cooling rack.

Add Toppings: Serve warm with your favorite toppings such as maple syrup, a dusting of powdered sugar, or fresh fruit. Enjoy every delicious bite!
