Ingredients

4 ripe bananas, sliced

1 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Banana Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the sliced bananas with half the brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Mix gently to coat the bananas. Pour this mixture into a greased baking dish (approximately 8x8 inches).

Make the Crumble Topping: In another bowl, mix together the rolled oats, flour, remaining brown sugar, melted butter, salt, and the remaining 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon. If you’re using nuts, add them to the mixture as well. Stir until crumbly and well combined.

Assemble: Evenly sprinkle the crumble topping over the banana filling in the baking dish.

Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the bananas are bubbly.

Serve: Allow the crumble to cool for about 5-10 minutes before serving. It’s delicious on its own, but for an extra treat, serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
