Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

8 slices of crispy bacon

1 cup of sharp cheddar cheese, grated

1 cup of BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)

1 tablespoon of olive oil

1 teaspoon of garlic powder

1 teaspoon of onion powder

1 teaspoon of smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Chicken: In a large bowl, drizzle the chicken breasts with olive oil, then season with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Make sure to coat the chicken evenly with the seasonings.

Cook the Bacon: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until it reaches a crispy texture. Once done, remove and let it drain on paper towels. Reserve about 2 tablespoons of bacon drippings in the skillet.

Sear the Chicken: In the same skillet using the reserved bacon drippings, sear the seasoned chicken breasts for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they're golden brown. Avoid cooking them all the way through as they will finish cooking in the oven.

Layer the Flavor: In a baking dish, place the seared chicken breasts. Pour the BBQ sauce over each piece generously. Then, crumble the crispy bacon over the top, followed by an even layer of grated cheddar cheese.

Bake the Chicken: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden brown, and the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (75°C).

Garnish: Once done, remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and added flavor.

Serve: Slice the BBQ Bacon Cheddar Chicken into portions and serve it with your favorite sides such as corn on the cob or a fresh garden salad.
