Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 bell pepper (any color), diced

1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes

1 can (6 oz) tomato paste

2 cups beef broth

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups elbow macaroni

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until it's browned and no longer pink, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Sauté Vegetables: Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and bell pepper to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 4-5 minutes.

Add Tomatoes and Seasoning: Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Cook Elbow Macaroni: In a separate pot, cook the elbow macaroni according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Combine Ingredients: Once the beef mixture has simmered, add the cooked elbow macaroni to the skillet and stir to combine everything thoroughly.

Prepare for Baking: Transfer the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese, spreading evenly.

Bake the Casserole: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh basil if desired. Cut into squares and serve warm.
