Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast

1 cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)

¼ cup granulated sugar

½ cup unsalted butter, melted (plus extra for brushing)

1 large egg

1 tsp salt

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped

1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped

1 tsp dried oregano

¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

Activate Yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm milk, granulated sugar, and yeast. Let sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

Mix Dough: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the melted butter, egg, and the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough starts to form.

Knead Dough: Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.

First Rise: Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Prepare Garlic Herb Butter: While the dough is rising, melt ¼ cup of the butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the minced garlic, chopped parsley, rosemary, oregano, and pepper. Stir well and remove from heat, allowing the flavors to meld.

Shape Rolls: After the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Divide it into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.

Second Rise: Place the rolls in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, leaving some space between them. Cover and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Preheat Oven: While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Brush with Herb Butter: Gently brush the tops of the risen rolls with the warm garlic herb butter mixture.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown on top.

Final Touch: Remove the rolls from the oven; immediately brush them with any remaining garlic herb butter. Allow them to cool slightly before serving.
