Ingredients

2 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work best)

8 oz dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa)

1 tsp coconut oil (optional for a smoother texture)

1/2 cup chopped nuts (such as walnuts or almonds)

1/4 cup dried cranberries or cherries

1/4 tsp sea salt

1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)

1/4 cup shredded coconut (unsweetened, optional)

Instructions

Prep the Apples: Wash and slice the apples into very thin rounds, about 1/8 inch thick. Remove any seeds and set aside.

Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate and coconut oil (if using). Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.

Prepare the Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, making sure to leave some overhang for easy removal later.

Spread the Chocolate: Pour the melted chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet. Use a spatula to spread the chocolate into an even layer, about 1/4 inch thick.

Arrange the Apples: Carefully lay the apple slices over the melted chocolate. You may overlap them slightly for a beautiful presentation.

Add Toppings: Sprinkle the chopped nuts, dried cranberries or cherries, sea salt, cinnamon, and shredded coconut evenly over the apple slices.

Chill to Set: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 1-2 hours, or until the chocolate is fully hardened.

Break into Pieces: Once set, use a sharp knife or your hands to break the chocolate bark into irregular pieces.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve the Chocolate Apple Snack Bark as a delightful treat or snack. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
