Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal later.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix well until smooth. Add the eggs, one at a time, stirring well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep your blondies soft and chewy.

Add Chocolate Chips & Nuts: Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and the chopped nuts, if using, until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Bake the Blondies: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).

Cool and Cut: Allow the blondies to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes. Use the parchment overhang to lift them out of the pan and onto a cutting board. Let them cool completely before slicing into squares.

Enjoy: Serve your delicious blondies warm or at room temperature, and enjoy the rich flavor and chewy texture that will leave everyone asking for seconds!
