Ingredients

12 oz bowtie pasta

1 lb ground beef (preferably lean)

1 medium onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)

1 cup beef broth

1 cup heavy cream

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the bowtie pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Brown the Beef: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms, cooking for another 2-3 minutes.

Season and Cook the Beef: Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef. Break it up with a spatula, cooking until browned and no longer pink. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Add Flavor: Stir in the Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Pour in the beef broth, bringing it to a simmer for about 5 minutes to reduce slightly.

Create the Cream Sauce: Reduce the heat to medium-low and slowly add the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce is creamy and slightly thickened.

Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked bowtie pasta to the skillet, tossing it in the creamy mixture until evenly coated. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.

Garnish and Serve: Adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot, garnished with freshly chopped parsley.
