Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground beef

12 oz (340g) fettuccine pasta

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tbsp olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 medium onion, finely chopped

1 cup beef broth

1 tsp Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup diced tomatoes (canned or fresh)

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving about 1 cup of pasta water.

Sauté the Onions and Garlic: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add the minced garlic and sauté for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Brown the Ground Beef: Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Add Liquid Ingredients: Once the beef is cooked, pour in the beef broth and the heavy cream. Stir well to combine.

Mix in Seasonings: Add the Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and diced tomatoes. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Incorporate Cheese: Lower the heat and slowly stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce turns creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach your desired consistency.

Combine Pasta and Sauce: Gently toss the cooked fettuccine in the creamy ground beef sauce until evenly coated.

Melt Mozzarella: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top. Optionally, cover the skillet for a few minutes until the mozzarella melts.

Serve: Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and extra Parmesan if desired. Serve hot and enjoy the creamy, hearty delight!
