Ingredients

1 block (14 oz) firm tofu

2 tablespoons cornstarch

3 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce

1 tablespoon maple syrup

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

2 green onions (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prep the Tofu: Begin by pressing the tofu to remove excess moisture. Wrap it in a clean kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top for about 15-20 minutes. Once pressed, cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes.

Make the Sauce: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, Sriracha sauce, maple syrup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Coat the Tofu: Once the tofu is cut and pressed, add the cornstarch to a large bowl. Add the tofu cubes and gently toss to coat the tofu evenly with cornstarch.

Marinate the Tofu: Pour the sauce over the cornstarch-coated tofu and carefully toss until all pieces are evenly coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes (or up to 30 minutes) for better flavor.

Preheat the Oven: While the tofu is marinating, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Roast the Tofu: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Spread the marinated tofu cubes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle olive oil over the tofu to help it get crispy.

Bake: Roast in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, flipping the tofu halfway through, until the tofu is golden brown and crispy.

Garnish and Serve: Once roasted, remove the tofu from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Serve warm, either as a side dish, in a grain bowl, or in a wrap!
