Ingredients

2 cups pecan halves

1/2 cup pure maple syrup

1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

Pinch of nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Prepare the Coating: In a medium bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg (if using) until well combined.

Combine Pecans and Coating: Add the pecan halves to the bowl and stir until they are evenly coated with the maple mixture.

Spread and Roast: Spread the coated pecans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure they aren’t overcrowded to ensure even roasting.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for about 15-20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes to prevent burning. They're ready when they are golden brown and fragrant.

Cool and Store: Once done, remove the pecans from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet. They will become crunchy as they cool down. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
