1 cup whole wheat flour

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

1/4 cup olive oil

1/2 cup water (more as needed)

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup finely diced bell peppers (mixed colors)

1/4 cup finely chopped red onion

1/4 cup sliced black olives

2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and dried oregano. Stir until well mixed.

    Incorporate Wet Ingredients: Add the olive oil and water to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough begins to form. If the dough is too dry, add a little more water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough is smooth. Knead the dough for 3-4 minutes until it becomes elastic.

      Divide and Roll: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Divide the dough into two equal portions. On a floured surface, roll out one portion as thin as possible (about 1/8-inch thick). Use a pizza cutter or knife to cut the dough into desired cracker shapes (squares or triangles).

        Add the Toppings: Transfer the cut dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush each cracker lightly with olive oil. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella, diced bell peppers, red onion, black olives, fresh basil, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using) evenly over the crackers.

          Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

            Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve as a crunchy snack or with your favorite dip!
