Ingredients

1 package (15 oz) Oreo cookies

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

2 packages (3.4 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix

4 cups milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 cups whipped topping (like Cool Whip)

1 cup gummy worms (for decoration)

1 small plant pot (optional, for an authentic look)

Instructions

Prepare Oreo Crust: Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until they turn into fine crumbs. You can also put the cookies in a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin if you don’t have a food processor. Reserve about 1 cup of crumbs for the topping.

Make the Chocolate Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and continue beating until well combined.

Add Pudding: In another bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and thickened. Once mixed, fold in the whipped topping until you get a uniform mixture.

Combine Mixtures: Carefully fold the chocolate pudding mixture into the cream cheese mixture until completely incorporated.

Assemble Layers: Start by layering a third of the crushed Oreos at the bottom of your chosen serving dish (or plant pot for a fun presentation). Spoon half of the chocolate mixture on top, followed by another layer of Oreos and the remaining chocolate mixture. Finish with the remaining Oreo crumbs on top.

Chill the Cake: Cover the assembled dirt cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight if possible. This helps to meld the flavors and allows the layers to set nicely.

Garnish and Serve: Just before serving, place gummy worms on top of the dirt cake for decoration. You can make them hang off the edges for a fun effect. If using a pot, consider placing a little greenery or decorative flower (non-edible) alongside the cake for presentation!
