Easy Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry Bowl

1 lb (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

4 cups broccoli florets

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (or any high-heat oil)

1 tablespoon minced garlic

1 tablespoon minced ginger

ΒΌ cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons water

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

2 cups cooked jasmine rice (or rice of your choice)

Sesame seeds for garnish

Sliced green onions for garnish

Marinate the Beef: In a medium bowl, combine the thinly sliced flank steak with soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes while you prepare the other ingredients.

    Prepare the Broccoli: Bring a pot of water to a boil and blanch the broccoli florets for 2-3 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and rinse them under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside.

      Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water until smooth. Add this mixture to the marinated beef along with minced garlic and ginger. Mix well and set aside.

        Stir-Fry the Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

          Cook the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the blanched broccoli and stir-fry for about 1-2 minutes. Return the beef to the skillet and pour in any remaining marinade. Stir everything together until the sauce thickens slightly, about 2 minutes.

            Serve: Spoon the beef and broccoli mixture over bowls of cooked jasmine rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for an added touch.
