Ingredients

2 ripe bananas

1 cup dark chocolate chips

2 tablespoons coconut oil

½ cup chopped nuts (walnuts, almonds, or peanuts)

¼ teaspoon sea salt

Optional: 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas: Peel the bananas and slice them into bite-sized pieces, about ½ inch thick. Place the banana slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure they’re spaced apart to prevent sticking.

Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil. Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. If you're using vanilla extract, stir it in at this stage for added flavor.

Coat the Bananas: Using a fork or a toothpick, dip each banana slice into the melted chocolate, ensuring they’re fully covered. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off before placing them back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.

Add the Nuts: While the chocolate is still wet on the banana slices, sprinkle a little bit of chopped nuts on top of each piece. This adds a nice crunch and flavor contrast.

Sprinkle with Sea Salt: Top each banana bite with a small pinch of sea salt. This will enhance the chocolate flavor and provide a delightful sweet-and-salty experience.

Freeze: Place the baking sheet in the freezer and let the banana bites freeze for at least 1-2 hours, or until the chocolate is solid.

Store or Serve: Once frozen, you can transfer the bites into an airtight container or a resealable bag for easy snacking. They can be stored in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.
