Ingredients

1 medium seedless watermelon

8 oz dark chocolate (preferably 70% cocoa or higher)

1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother chocolate)

Sea salt (for garnish, optional)

1/2 cup crushed nuts (e.g., almonds or pistachios, optional for topping)

1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional for topping)

Instructions

Prepare the Watermelon:

    - Begin by cutting the watermelon into 1-inch thick slices. Then, cut each slice into triangles or rectangles, depending on your preference. Aim for bite-sized pieces.

      Freeze the Watermelon:

        - Place the watermelon pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced apart. Freeze for at least 2 hours or until completely firm.

          Melt the Chocolate:

            - In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate and coconut oil (if using). Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth. Alternatively, use a double boiler for melting.

              Dip the Watermelon:

                - Remove the watermelon from the freezer. Dip each piece halfway into the melted chocolate, allowing any excess to drip off. Place the chocolate-dipped watermelon back onto the baking sheet.

                  Add Garnishes:

                    - If desired, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over the chocolate while it’s still wet. You can also enhance the flavor and presentation by adding crushed nuts or shredded coconut.

                      Return to Freezer:

                        - Once all pieces are dipped and garnished, return the baking sheet to the freezer for about 30 minutes to let the chocolate harden completely.

                          Serve:

                            - Serve the Frozen Chocolate Dipped Watermelon straight from the freezer. Enjoy this refreshing and healthy treat on a hot day!
