Ingredients

10 chicken drumsticks

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Fresh chives or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, olive oil, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).

Marinate the Drumsticks: Place the drumsticks in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring each drumstick is nicely coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (up to overnight for best flavor).

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking tray with aluminum foil for easier cleanup.

Prep for Baking: Remove the drumsticks from the marinade and place them on the prepared baking tray. Reserve the marinade for basting.

Bake the Drumsticks: Bake the drumsticks in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, baste them with the reserved marinade using a brush and return them to the oven.

Glaze and Finish: Continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (75°C) and the skin is golden brown and slightly caramelized. For extra crispiness, you can broil them for an additional 2-3 minutes, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.

Garnish and Serve: Once done, remove the drumsticks from the oven and let them rest for about 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh chives or parsley before serving. Enjoy your Golden Honey Garlic Drumsticks with rice, a fresh salad, or your favorite side dishes!
