Ingredients

4 tablespoons almond flour

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tablespoon coconut sugar (or your preferred sweetener)

1/8 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce

2 tablespoons almond milk (or any milk of choice)

A pinch of salt

Optional: dark chocolate chips or nuts for added texture (1 tablespoon)

Instructions

In a microwave-safe mug, combine the almond flour, cocoa powder, coconut sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir until well mixed.

Add the vanilla extract, applesauce, and almond milk to the dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly until you achieve a smooth batter.

If you're using dark chocolate chips or nuts, fold them into the batter gently.

Microwave the mug on high for about 30-60 seconds. Start with 30 seconds and check the cake; if it’s still gooey, continue microwaving in 10-second intervals until the center is set but moist (cooking time may vary based on the wattage of your microwave).

Once done, let it cool for a minute before digging in to allow the cake to firm up slightly.

Optional: Top with a dollop of Greek yogurt or a drizzle of honey for added indulgence!
