Ingredients

1 medium ripe cantaloupe (or honeydew)

8 ounces thinly sliced prosciutto

1 cup fresh basil leaves

2 tablespoons balsamic glaze

Salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste

12 wooden skewers (6-inch size)

Instructions

Prepare the Melon: Start by cutting the cantaloupe in half and removing the seeds. Use a melon baller or a sharp knife to cut the flesh into bite-sized cubes or balls.

Slice the Prosciutto: Lay out the prosciutto slices on a clean surface and cut them into strips approximately 1 inch wide.

Assemble the Skewers: Take a wooden skewer and thread a piece of melon, followed by a basil leaf, and then a strip of prosciutto. Repeat this pattern until the skewer is filled, leaving some space at each end. Aim for three or four pieces of melon per skewer.

Drizzle with Balsamic Glaze: Once all the skewers are prepared, arrange them on a serving platter. Drizzle the balsamic glaze over the skewers, and sprinkle with salt and freshly cracked black pepper to enhance the flavors.

Serve Immediately or Chill: The skewers can be served right away or chilled in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before serving for a refreshing taste.
