4 whole wheat pita breads

1 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup sliced pepperoni or your choice of protein (chicken, tofu, etc.)

1 cup mixed bell peppers, thinly sliced

½ cup black olives, pitted and sliced

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp garlic powder

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Olive oil for drizzling

Salt and pepper to taste

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). If you prefer a crispy crust, place a baking sheet in the oven as it heats.

    Prepare the Pita: Place the pita breads flat on a clean surface. Using a brush or spoon, lightly drizzle or spread a little olive oil on each pita. This will help crisp them up during baking.

      Spread the Sauce: Evenly spread about 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce on each pita bread, leaving a small border around the edges.

        Add Cheese: Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce, covering it completely.

          Layer Toppings: Scatter your desired toppings over the cheese. Use the sliced pepperoni, mixed bell peppers, and olives. Feel free to customize with any additional toppings you love!

            Season: Season the pizzas with dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to enhance the flavors.

              Bake: Carefully place the prepared mini pizzas on the preheated baking sheet (or directly on the oven rack for an even crunch). Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
