Ingredients

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 cups broccoli florets

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 medium lemon, juiced and zested

1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth

1/4 cup olive oil

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust for spice preference)

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon dried oregano

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Cooked rice or quinoa (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients: Start by peeling and deveining the shrimp if not done. Rinse the broccoli florets under cold water and set aside. Mince the garlic and zest and juice the lemon.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Add the Broccoli: Toss in the broccoli florets and sauté for about 3 to 4 minutes until they start to soften and turn bright green.

Flavor the Dish: Pour in the broth, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, black pepper, and oregano. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for about 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Cook the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

Final Touch: Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more salt, lemon juice, or pepper if desired.

Serve: Remove the skillet from heat. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot over rice or quinoa, ensuring to drizzle some of the pan sauce over the top.
