1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

2 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and sliced thin

1/2 cup almond meal (ground almonds)

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (for dusting)

1 tablespoon chopped almonds (for garnish)

Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Prepare the Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry into a rectangle or circle, about 1/8 inch thick. Transfer it onto the prepared baking sheet. Using a sharp knife, score a 1-inch border around the edges to create a frame. Be careful not to cut all the way through.

      Make the Almond Filling: In a medium bowl, beat together the almond meal, granulated sugar, softened butter, egg, vanilla extract, and all-purpose flour until smooth and creamy. This filling will give your tart a delicious almond flavor.

        Assemble the Tart: Spread the almond filling evenly within the scored border on the puff pastry. Lay the sliced pears artfully over the almond filling, slightly overlapping them to create a beautiful pattern.
