Ingredients

1 package (17.5 oz) frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed

1 cup diced ham (preferably smoked or honey-baked)

1 cup shredded Swiss cheese

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives (optional)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Salt and pepper, to taste

All-purpose flour (for dusting)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the diced ham, shredded Swiss cheese, cream cheese, Dijon mustard, and chopped chives. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well until combined.

Roll Out the Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut the pastry into squares, roughly 3 inches by 3 inches.

Assemble the Bites: Place about 1 tablespoon of the ham and cheese filling in the center of each pastry square. Be careful not to overfill, or they will ooze out during baking.

Seal the Pastry: Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling to create a triangle or square shape, depending on your preference. Press the edges firmly to seal, and if desired, crimp the edges with a fork for extra flair.

Egg Wash: Brush the tops of the pastry bites with the beaten egg to give them a golden color when baked.

Chill (optional): For extra flaky layers, you can chill the assembled pastry bites in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes before baking.

Bake: Place the pastry bites on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are puffed and golden brown.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve warm and enjoy!
