Ingredients

4 (6 oz) salmon fillets, skin-on

3 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

Juice and zest of 2 large lemons

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon dried thyme (or 1 tablespoon fresh thyme)

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish

Lemon slices, for serving

Instructions

Preparation of Salmon:

    - Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.

      Heat the Skillet:

        - In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

          Cook the Salmon:

            - Carefully place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet and cook for about 4–5 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden.

              - Gently flip the fillets and cook for an additional 3–4 minutes, depending on the thickness of your salmon, until the fish is just opaque in the center.

                Add Garlic and Lemon:

                  - Reduce the heat to medium and add the minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

                    - Pour in the lemon juice and add the zest, followed by the dried thyme. Stir gently to combine, allowing the flavors to meld.

                      Finish with Butter:

                        - Add the butter to the skillet, swirling it around to melt and create a luscious sauce. Spoon the garlic-lemon butter over the salmon fillets as they finish cooking.

                          Serve:

                            - Remove the skillet from the heat and garnish the salmon with fresh parsley. Serve with lemon slices on the side for extra brightness.
