Ingredients

2 cups edamame in pods (fresh or frozen)

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

1 teaspoon grated ginger

1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Sea salt (for sprinkling)

Instructions

If using frozen edamame, cook them according to package instructions, usually boiling them in salted water for about 3-5 minutes. Drain and set aside. If using fresh edamame, simply rinse and prepare them for steaming.

In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, making sure not to burn the garlic.

Add the cooked edamame to the skillet, stirring well to coat the pods with the garlic and ginger mixture.

Pour in the soy sauce and sriracha, mix to combine, and sprinkle in the red pepper flakes. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavor to meld and edamame to heat through.

Remove from heat and transfer the edamame to a serving bowl. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds, fresh cilantro, and a sprinkle of sea salt to taste.

Serve warm as an appetizer or a zesty snack with your favorite Asian dishes!
