Ingredients

1 (15 oz) can of black beans, drained and rinsed

1 (15 oz) can of corn, drained

1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened

1 cup sour cream

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup salsa (your choice of mild or spicy)

1 tsp taco seasoning

1 jalapeño, diced (optional for heat)

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

1 avocado, diced

Tortilla chips, for serving

Instructions

Mix the Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning. Use a hand mixer or a spatula to blend until smooth and creamy.

Add the Goodies: Stir in the black beans, corn, salsa, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. If using jalapeño for extra heat, add it in now. Mix until everything is evenly combined.

Layer the Flavors: In a baking dish (about 9x9 inches), spread the mixture evenly to form the first layer.

Cheese It Up: Top the mixture with the remaining shredded cheddar cheese, spreading it evenly over the surface.

Bake (Optional): For a warm, gooey dip, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the dip for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Alternatively, you can also serve it cold.

Garnish and Serve: Once removed from the oven (if baked), let it cool for a minute, then top with diced avocado and fresh cilantro. Serve it warm or cold with tortilla chips for dipping.
