For the Shrimp:

1 lb medium shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon chili powder

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Juice of 1 lime

Zest of 1 lime

For the Avocado Crema:

1 ripe avocado

1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt

Juice of 1 lime

1 clove garlic, minced

Salt to taste

Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

For Assembly:

8 small corn or flour tortillas

1 cup shredded red cabbage or lettuce

1/2 cup diced tomatoes

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

Marinate the Shrimp: In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, smoked paprika, ground cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, lime juice, and lime zest. Add the shrimp and toss until well coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes.

Prepare the Avocado Crema: While the shrimp is marinating, prepare the avocado crema. In a food processor, combine the ripe avocado, sour cream or Greek yogurt, lime juice, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust the seasoning if necessary. For added flavor, you can mix in some chopped cilantro. Set aside.

Cook the Shrimp: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink and opaque. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fully cooked. Remove from heat.

Warm the Tortillas: In a dry skillet or directly over a gas flame, warm the tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until soft and pliable.

Assemble the Tacos: Place a layer of shredded cabbage or lettuce on each tortilla. Top with a generous amount of the cooked shrimp, a spoonful of diced tomatoes, and drizzle with the avocado crema. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges.

Enjoy! Serve immediately and enjoy these zesty shrimp tacos bursting with flavor!
